Lauren Cohan

Just last month, Lauren Cohan assured ‘The Walking Dead’ fans that her character, Maggie Rhee would be back for AMC’s zombie hit’s ninth season, stating “I’m going back.  There’s a lot more Maggie story to tell.”  But Cohan also signed on to star in an action pilot for ABC, ‘Whiskey Cavalier’ and now the Disney owned network has ordered that show to series for the fall.

When Cohan signed on for ‘Whiskey Cavalier’, it was agreed that she would still be free to film ‘The Walking Dead’.  ‘The Walking Dead’ is now filming in the Atlanta area and Cohan is confirmed for at least six of the eight episodes from the first half of the season… but will that be it?  Will producers then be forced to kill Maggie off?  It certainly wouldn’t be the first time that a beloved, long-running character has been killed on the show.  Many fans abandoned the show when Maggie’s husband Glenn (Steven Yeun) was killed by Negan.

Scott Foley will co-star with Cohan on ‘Whiskey Cavalier’.  Here is the show’s description:

Whiskey Cavalier is a high-octane, hour-long action dramedy that follows the adventures of tough but tender FBI super-agent Will Chase (codename: “Whiskey Cavalier”), played by Scott Foley. Following an emotional break-up, Chase is assigned to work with badass CIA operative Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge (codename: “Fiery Tribune”), played by Lauren Cohan. Together, they lead an inter-agency team of flawed, funny and heroic spies who periodically save the world (and each other) while navigating the rocky roads of friendship, romance and office politics.

Also part of the ‘Whiskey Cavalier’ cast is Tyler James Williams, who starred on ‘The Walking Dead’ as Noah.  Ana Ortiz stars as Susan Sampson with Vir Das as Jai Datta.  Dave Hemingson wrote the pilot episode and serves as executive producer.  Peter Atencio directed the pilot and is also an executive producer along with Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold.

Would you be sad to see Maggie go?
