Marvel Studios hasn’t been too forthgoing with who would be playing all of Thanos‘ Black Order in ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ though we’ve just learned the actress behind one of the characters. Thanks to a recent interview, Joe Russo has revealed that Carrie Coon (‘Fargo,’ ‘The Leftovers’) will be playing Proxima Midnight in the upcoming blockbuster! Still not knowing who is playing all of the characters and what role that Peter Dinklage has in the film means that there are plenty of secrets left to uncover, but this is a great one to learn!

The news came directly from Russo:

“Carrie Coon is Proxima Midnight, and you may know her from season three of Fargo or the Leftovers.”

This means that the Emmy-nominated star is taking on one of the fiercest women in the universe and a player that would put even Gamora to shame. Proxima is the only woman in the Black Order and in the comics, she has a spear with the “power of a time-distorted sun” that never misses its target and is covered in a toxin that will kill almost anything. Outside of the weapon, she also has the usual standards of super strength, speed, endurance, and is nearly invulnerable. An almost perfect killing machine to help Thanos accomplish his goals.

We don’t know about any of the relationships in the film as of yet, but in the comics, she was also married to Corvus Glaive who is another member of the Black Order. It should be noted that the casting of Corvus has yet to be announced and could very well end up being Dinklage.

Are you looking forward to Carrie Coon’s performance as Proxima Midnight? Do you feel that she will have the same powerset that she does in the comics? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
