When you think of Marvel crossovers right now, almost everyone starts thinking about ‘Avengers: Infinity War,‘ but ‘Cloak and Dagger’ showrunner Joe Pokaski has one in mind on a slightly smaller scale. He would love to see his upcoming duo of heroes meet up with some other group of heroes, but it wouldn’t be the ones you’d expect.
Pokaski isn’t thinking about Netflix’s ‘The Defenders’ or ABC’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..’ He wants a group of heroes that are a little closer in age than the non-stop vigilante heroes of New York. When asked if ‘Cloak and Dagger’ could exist with other heroes the showrunner stated:
“I hope so. I mean it was really important for the first season to really establish Tandy and Tyrone, even as people before they become superheroes… But I’m a big fan of what Josh [Schwartz] and Stephanie [Savage] did on “The Runaways,” and we’re always talking about when do we get to do our crossover. There’s probably 400 lawyers in the way… I’m excited for however Cloak & Dagger can play in the universe.”
At the very least, the ‘Runaways‘ are a bit closer in age to Tandy and Tyrone. While New York might be a little over half the distance to New Orleans than California, the closer age of those involved would make sense. The issue is, of course, that it is doubtful they could easily make this work having to negotiate the crossover with Hulu.
Still, it would be a pretty iconic team up. I can’t really guess at what the best personality mixes would be yet either as we know that the new series will be slightly changing Tandy and Tyrone from their original comic book origins.
Do you hope that ‘Cloak and Dagger’ can hold its own and crossover with the ‘Runaways’? What other heroes or villains would you like to see this pair interact with? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
