Four names have joined the cast of the recently announced ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ television show which is set to adapt the smash hit film into an ongoing series. FX’s pilot for the series is really ramping up towards pre-production with Doug Jones (‘The Shape of Water‘,’Hellboy’), Beanie Feldstein (‘Lady Bird’,’Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’), Jake McDorman (‘Live Free or Die Hard’,’Limitless’), and Mark Proksch (‘Better Call Saul’,’The Office’) all having signed on!

The most interesting of the four names is Doug Jones as he’s still starring in ‘Star Trek: Discovery‘ which makes us wonder if his character isn’t long-lived for that world or if this is just a case where the new series has a different production schedule that will work with his. He may even only have a brief one-episode appearance if he isn’t set to be one of the leading characters.

The cast will be joining Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, and Harvey Guillen who are already attached to the production which Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi are executive producing, with Clement as the writer and Waititi as the director.

FX has always loved vampires so to develop a half-hour comedy series based off of this cult classic isn’t too much of a stretch. While only a pilot order is in place at this time, I expect that we’ll see a full series pickup announced in the near future.

If you haven’t had a chance to see ‘What We Do in the Shadows,’ the story follows four bloodsuckers who are living together. While they go hunting at night, they need to deal with one another during the day which is where the true humor and heart of the series kicks in.

Which of these actors are you most excited to see join the cast of ‘What We Do In The Shadows’? Do you think any of the newer actors will end up being vampires who live in the house or will the original four cast announcements end up as the undead? Share your thoughts below!
