If you’ve ever wanted to visit Westeros then taking a trip to Lapland, Finland might be your best bet. Time Warner’s HBO Nordic has partnered with Lapland Hotels SnowVillage to bring you the ultimate ‘Game of Thrones’ experience with a fully themed hotel that is made out of snow and ice. You probably don’t want a fire going on to complete the full title.

This ultimate trip to the Seven Kingdoms can be found 125 miles above the Arctic Circle in the resort of Kittilä and is “around 90 minutes from Helsinki.” There are ten suites for an overnight stay and another 14 rooms to visit while you’re there.

The building and artwork within were tackled by professional ice sculptors from one end of the globe to another. Each of the rooms also has an ice figure from the television series such as the Hall of Faces from Braavos and Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane guarding the Iron Throne. Of course, what icy ‘Game of Thrones’ retreat would be complete without a White Walker with glowing blue eyes?

For a little levity, they’ve also got a dragon-shaped ice slide to enjoy!

As this building is made out of ice, you can’t expect it to be too warm inside, and temperatures will often hit – 5 C (23 F), so thermal sleeping bags are available for guests who need a bit of extra warmth.

While rooms are only available for one night, if you really want to explore the hotel you can snag a log cabin with heating in the SnowVillage and make a few visits at your leisure.

I’d hurry though if you want to check this out. The SnowVillage is constructed yearly with various themes, and there is no guarantee that the White Walkers will continue to invade next year.

Do you want to visit the ‘Game of Thrones’ ice hotel or would you prefer one set in the more tropical climate of Dorne? What do you think of the idea of a themed hotel for one of the most popular shows on television? Is there another series that you’d like to see duplicate this idea?
