the incredibles 2

The marketing team for ‘Incredibles 2’ clearly love The Google Art and Culture app as they’ve directly tapped into the popular feature to show off what the cast’s characters of the film would look like as a classic painting. Writer and director Brad Bird was able to show us how a ‘Fantastic Four’ movie should have been done with the first film and now is giving us another outing with the Parr family as they come up against new villains, new problems, and a baby who has all kinds of superpowers!

First up, we have a look at Holly Hunter as Helen Parr. Not only is she the mother of the family but the fantastic Elastigirl as well! We know that this time around she’ll be leading the charge for the Supers to come back into the spotlight to save the world.

Next up we’ve got Craig T. Nelson as Bob Parr. While he was the focus of the first film, it looks like he’ll be more at home with the kids.

Sarah Vowell is Violet Parr and still wants to be a superhero, especially as her teenage life consists of being socially awkward.

Huckleberry “Huck” Milner plays Dashiell “Dash” Parr who is very much the middle child of the family. He wants to give into using his power and is at an age where he can’t fully grasp why he must keep it a secret from the world.

Samuel L. Jackson is once again voicing Bob’s best friend, Lucius Best. With how willing he was to help Bob in the first movie as Frozone, it will be interesting to see if he is assisting Bob’s parenting this time around or wants to have a bit more of an adventurous side and hang out with Elastigirl.

Brad Bird is once again not just writing and directing the movie but also voicing Edna “E” Mode who is one of the fan-favorites from the first movie. While she’ll clearly want to return to designing super suits, I’m sure she’ll still be very strict on her “No Capes!’ policy.

Bob Odenkirk is one of the new actors in the movie and plays Winston Deaver. He is one of those responsible for pushing the Supers to be back in the limelight, and it is unclear if his intentions are noble or not.

The yin to Winston’s yang, we’ve got his Evelyn Deavor being played by Catherine Keener. She’s more of the brains behind the outfit from a technical standpoint and believes there is no problem which she can’t solve.

Jonathan Banks is also back as Rick Dicker of the Super Relocation Program. Only, as the government shuts down the program, it is unclear how much help he will be for the family moving forward.

A potentially new Super in the movie is VOYD who Sophia Bush is lending her voice to. She can “divert and manipulate objects around her by creating voids that allow the objects to appear and disappear, and shift in space” which will be an exciting power to see used.

On the government end of things, there is one person who wants the Supers back. That person is Isabella Rossellini who is “a dignified foreign” Ambassador. However, is her heart in the right place or does she have an ulterior motive to use the Supers for her own ends?

The cast is lined up, the movie is good to go, we just need wait until June 15th to watch it!
