In “Plus One” we saw that both Mulder and Scully appeared to get rather close to one another during ‘The X-Files‘ and Gillian Anderson has taken a moment to confirm how close they got. In a very classic monster of the week styled case, we saw both agents each dealing with their own split personality telepathic twins and the one Scully was investigating really got to her. She brought up some unresolved mother issues for the character who we know will be tracking down her own son William in the upcoming episodes. Also, the telepath brought up fears of aging which seemed to hit Scully rather hard which doesn’t help when she’s hanging out with her ex-lover that still carries a flame for her.
In fact, this lead to us seeing the two of them in bed with Scully undressed and while it wasn’t outright stated what happened it was a pretty easy guess. A similar scene played out at the end of the episode which hinted that the two were about to become intertwined once more with Mulder offering to keep Scully company. She declined and after changing her mind opens the door to his connected room to see Mulder standing there waiting for her.
If you were at all unsure of what ended up playing out off screen, Anderson took a moment to hit up Twitter and not only confirm what happened but how many times!

Yes folks, And Then They Had Sex. Twice.
Thank you, Anderson, for having far too much fun with the fans of the series. We’re going to miss you when the finale hits and the cases are closed for good.
As to Mulder and Scully, good for these two to have a bit of enjoyment before what I’m sure will be a rather painful season going forward as they learn what we already know about William.
Are you happy that Scully and Mulder were able to get a little intimate one more time before the final season of ‘The X-Files’ came to a close? Are you surprised that the two have taken this long? Share your thoughts below!
