We all know that Jason Momoa really made his mark on the map as Khal Drogo in HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones‘ and now that he’s done promoting ‘Justice League’ as Aquaman, he took a visit to the set of the current season to hang out with his old friends. Only, this sparked rumors everywhere that we would be seeing a return of Momoa to the small screen and we don’t mean in his Netflix series ‘Frontier’.
While Khal Drogo quite clearly died in ‘Game of Thrones’ as almost every other fan-favorite penned by George R.R. Martin tends to do, there are plenty of ways that the show could bring him back. A flashback. A vision as she had seen in the House of the Undying. Possibly the last thing a certain Queen of Dragons sees before she dies. The choices are endless and none of them require for the Dothraki warrior to actually return to the land of the living.
While amused by the rumor, Momoa was quick to put it to rest once it came up:
“I just showed up to see [producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss] and I just happened to see people on set. I haven’t been over there in a long time. You just want to see your friends and you end up make headlines going, ‘Drogo’s back!’ and I’m like, ‘He’s dead! He can’t come back, it wouldn’t work.'”
While Momoa could just be keeping up the secrecy that often surrounds shows and films these days, I wouldn’t get my hopes up on his return. Of course, this isn’t the first actor who is rumored to return from the dead in some form or another. To fans of the deceased Khal I do apologize.
Do you think Momoa is covering and we’ll actually see Khal Drogo return one last time? If so, will it be in a vision or the last thing that Dany sees to give her a happy ending? Share your thoughts below!
