Now for your moment of truth ladies and gentlemen who were expecting a December 13th, 2019 release for ‘Wonder Woman 2‘, we’ve got some sad news to tell you: it’s moving. Actually, the news isn’t sad but joyous as we’ll be able to see the ‘Wonder Woman’ sequel over a month early on November 1st, 2019! Yes, Warner Brothers and DC are giving us a follow up to the only universally loved DCEU film to date a bit earlier than we had expected and that is fully news to celebrate.
This will leave Gal Gadot free to reprise her role on a date that currently doesn’t have any competition lined up by a certain other major comic book studio or other franchise which might draw viewers away. This will schedule the film to be released a week earlier than the next James Bond installment which might take away some of the second week release viewers but overall shouldn’t negatively affect what will likely be a huge opening weekend.
I’m sure this won’t cause any problems for Patty Jenkins in post-production as I’m sure they got her go ahead before making the change. It would seem unlikely for the studio to do anything which could mess up such a winning combination of cast and crew.
Besides, as the highest-grossing movie of the summer with a $412.6 million opening in the States and still mostly positive reviews it seems unlikely that even the return of Daniel Craig as 007 will put much of a dent at the box office. Hopefully, this weekend’s release of ‘Justice League’ won’t sour viewers away from wanting another outing with Gadot.
Are you happy to hear that we’ll be able to see the ‘Wonder Woman’ sequel over a month earlier than expected? Will Bond hurt any of the second weekend returns for the film? Share your thoughts below!
