The bad news: It seems creators of the series ‘Dark Matter’ have failed in attempts to get the Syfy series picked up by another network or outlet, even after Season Three ended on a cliffhanger.
The good news: Joseph Mallozzi and the crew want to thank fans by literally giving them a piece of the series.
Usually when a show wraps a season, they sell off props, costumes, etc. in order to recoup some costs of production, but since the show is over and the fans have been so loyal and vocal in their support, rather than selling these items in an online auction, Prodigy Pictures wants to give it all away!
All you have to do is write a letter, on actual paper, and mail it to the production company. Entries will be entered into a random drawing to win anything from tee shirts and caps to actual costumes and props.
From Mallozzi’s blog:
Prodigy Pictures President and Dark Matter Executive Producer Jay Firestone has decided he wants to reward the fans. And he’s going to do so by making many of the show’s props and costumes, as well as DM-themed t-shirts and caps, available. All you have to do for a chance at one of these Dark Matter mementos is write a letter (Yes, an actual letter!) telling us what the show means to you. Write it longhand on looseleaf or use your computer and print up the results or, heck, use a Blickensderfer model 7 typewriter if you like. Once you’re done, pop it in the mail and send to:
Prodigy Pictures124 The East MallToronto, OntarioM8Z 5V5And you’ll be automatically entered with an opportunity to win anything from a G.A. badge to a piece of the set.
Deadline for submissions is October 31st, 2017. Don’t forget to include your mailing address!
Keep checking the blog for more information on the items that will be made available.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that the fight to revive this series is over. Mallozzi previously stated that there were three prospective partners that were interested in helping to continue the story of the spaceship Raza and it’s crew of ex-cons.
Are you still hoping to see a fourth season… or more of ‘Dark Matter’?
