Remember when Gal Gadot was cast as Wonder Woman and people began picking apart her physical appearance? She was too skinny and her boobs weren’t big enough, or so the haters said. Well, this is that… just from the opposite angle.
Brenton Thwaites has been cast as Dick Grayson/Nightwing on Warner Brothers’ upcoming ‘Titans’ TV series. The show will be one of the flagship programs on WB’s new DC Comics-based streaming service. Nightwing was the first Robin and struggled to establish his own identity apart from his mentor Batman.
Thwaites most recently appeared as Henry Turner in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ this past summer. He also starred as Jonas in the YA adaptation ‘The Giver’, Prince Phillip in ‘Maleficent’ and Bek in ‘Gods of Egypt’. But who cares if he can act. If he wants to play Nightwing, he needs to have one trait in particular– a big round butt.
Yep, even though female comic book characters have pretty much always been sexualized and objectified, the same can’t be said of male characters… with one possible exception– Nightwing. And his fans want to make sure that that same level of sex-appeal is captured in the live action adaptation.
Since Thwaites was announced as playing Grayson, Google searches for his butt have skyrocketed.

Well, we don’t know when ‘Titans’ begins filming. Quite often actors have to radically alter their bodies when taking on a superhero role. Remember how Chris Pratt went from chubby on ‘Parks & Recreation’ to ripped in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’? All Brenton Thwaites needs to do is… like a million lunges a day. Get crackin’.
Is this too superficial? Should fans be more concerned with acting ability? Also, DOES Thwaites have the butt to play Dick Grayson?
