Whatever you want to say about Guillermo del Toro‘s films, you can always be excited about his special effects! ‘The Shape of Water’ premiered at the Venice Film Festival and has gotten a lot of love by critics. With this latest clip from the film and the extremely brief tease of the monster, you can see why. No, you won’t be getting a good look at it here, but it is a fun one that shows the creature being transferred. The previously released trailer shows off more, but this footage gives an expanded look at the first time the creature is shown off.

‘The Shape of Water’ takes place during the Cold War and focuses on Sally Hawkins (‘Blue Jasmine’,’Paddington’) who plays Elisa. Elisa works as a custodian in a government facility where top secret research is performed. One day, however, she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) stumble across an experiment that they shouldn’t see. This experiment is where we find the monster and are able to see how it changes Elisa as the two become what appears to be friends.

From master story teller, Guillermo del Toro, comes THE SHAPE OF WATER – an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment. Rounding out the cast are Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg and Doug Jones.
