‘The Gifted’ is working its way to TV very soon, bringing a new spin on 20th Century Fox’s cinematic X-Men universe. The series is connected to the X-Men cinematic universe, but as showrunners have previously outlined, it will take place at a time where “nobody knows where the X-Men are.”
The show will feature at least three mutants whose names are familiar to fans of the X-series of comic books: Thunderbird (portrayed by Blair Redmond), Blink (portrayed by Jamie Chung), and Polaris (portrayed by Emma Dumont). A new mutant, Eclipse (portrayed by Sean Teale), has also been created specifically for the new TV series.
Take a peek at this newly-released promo video that outlines a more behind-the-scenes look at the featured mutants of the show:
Action-adventure family drama THE GIFTED, from Marvel, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. Written by Matt Nix (APB, “Burn Notice”), directed by Bryan Singer (the “X-Men” franchise”) and executive-produced by Nix, Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner (“X-Men: Apocalypse,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” “The Wolverine”), Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: Apocalypse,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past”), Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones”) and Jim Chory (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones”), the series stars Stephen Moyer (SHOTS FIRED, “True Blood”) and Amy Acker (“Person of Interest”).
Fans don’t have much longer to wait to get the first taste of the series, as it will be premiering on Fox this Fall.
‘The Gifted’ is scheduled to make its debut on October 2, 2017, on the Fox TV network.
