War for the Planet of the Apes

With ‘War For the Planet of the Apes’ less than a month from release date, 20th Century Fox is wasting no time in promoting the latest film in the ‘Planet of the Apes’ franchise, especially as it comes hot on the heels of its well-received predecessors. Just for the special effect work and Andy Serkis’s performance alone, people seem to love these movies, and 20th Century Fox is well aware of that fact, capitalizing on Serkis’s character of Caesar in a lot of the publicity and promos, including the new clip we are sharing today.

In the clip (which you check can out for yourself below), Caesar finally meets thew new human “villain” of the film (and I put that in quotes as things are not really that black and white in these films) who taunts Caesar by calling him “almost human” based on his eyes. Caesar claims he “came for” the Colonel, though he does not reveal who told him the Colonel would be in that location, though things do not look good for the little primate as he is led away by the Colonel’s men in chains, most likely to be locked up in a cage. The clip also confirms that there is at least one ape who appears to be working with the Colonel, though how that works in the full story is not revealed in the clip, though I am sure it will be spoken of in the movie proper.

‘War For the Planet of the Apes’ is already getting positive buzz, with many claiming it does a good job of concluding the ape trilogy started back in 2014, and calling it one of the best films of the year so far. Like its predecessors, the VFX are also top-notch and many are assuming it will be nominated once again for the Oscar for Best Visual Effects, with many hoping this is the year they finally nab the award since this is supposedly the final film of the trilogy.
