Casper Van Dien and Dina Meyer are returning to the big screen for a limited run follow-up to the cult classic ‘Starship Troopers,’ in animated form. Two decades after the original film is released we’re getting a one-night-only debut of ‘Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars‘ thanks to Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions teaming up with Fathom Events. If you’ve been dying for more of the classic and the live-action sequels didn’t thrill you or weren’t enough then you’ll be eagerly looking forward to August 21st when you can check this one out!

This new CGI film won’t just bring back Johnny Rico and Dizzy Flores, but we’ll be seeing stand-up comedian and actor DeRay Davis playing a new character who is working with them. Ed Neumeier who wrote the screenplay for the original film penned this one as well so the style should be a pretty solid match for what we’ve already seen.

In the movie, Rico has been demoted and is on a satellite station on Mars. Not the most exciting of areas to be when the Federation is preparing to attack the bugs’ home planet. Only, right as the attack is launched a new bug invasion hits our red planet where Rico has to lead a band of new recruits to squash this new alien infestation.

You can check out the trailer right here:

C’mon You Apes, You Wanna Live Forever?! I have only one rule. Everybody fights, no one quits. The bugs have breached Mars, and the Federation’s Fleet is too far to help. It’s up to us to save the planet. On the bounce, Troopers! The only Good Bug is a Dead Bug! Oorah!

Casper Van Dien and Dina Meyer return as the voices of Johnny Rico and Dizzy Flores alongside Comedian & Starship Troopers Super Fan DeRay Davis in an all-new military adventure from the writer of Starship Troopers and Robocop, Ed Neumeier.

When the movie drops, there will also be a ton of bonus material available to be seen and also a live feed of Neumeier and Van Dien as they introduce the movie. Interviews with filmmakers and behind-the-scenes footage will also be featured after the film.
