‘Thor: Ragnarok’ won’t play in theaters until this Fall, but Mavel has released the first trailer giving fans a first look at what to expect from the demi-god’s third solo outing – and it looks gloriously incredible!
Ever since it was announced that Taika Waititi would be helming the film, there has been a lot of speculation as how the director would handle this Marvel property. After all, Waititi is known for his hilarious indie comedies like ‘What we do in the Shadows’ and ‘The Hunt for the Wilderpeople’ so it was immediately acknowledged that this ‘Thor’ movie would be different than the other two.
And it is! In a very good way!
The trailer immediately shows off the director’s style with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) breaking the fourth wall who then brings us up to speed as to why he’ll be without his trusty hammer Mjolnir in this film – and it’s all because of Cate Blanchett’s Hela.
There is so much to take in with the trailer. From seeing Jeff Goldblum as The Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and the return of Tom Hiddleston as Loki, it all looks fabulous. But the part of the trailer that caused me to yell out a big “HELL YA!”, was the return of Thor’s “friend from work” Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) as he and Thor face off in the arena on Sakaar. Yes, we get to see parts of the ‘Planet Hulk’ storyline play out on film!
‘Thor: Ragnarok’ hits all the right beats and just looks spectacularly fun. Check it out below!
In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!
“Thor: Ragnarok” hits theaters on Nov. 3.
