Logan‘ isn’t even out in theaters as of yet and already director James Mangold is planning for the future. His plans are pretty big as well since he not only wants to work with Hugh Jackman again on another project but bring back Dafne Keen for a standalone ‘X-23’ movie!

The news came out as Mangold had an interview about ‘Logan’ and while he didn’t have much new to say on that end of things he did state that collaborating with Jackman is something he was quite open to doing again down the line:

“I definitely know that Hugh and I will work together again.”

Obviously, working with Jackman isn’t going to be in another Wolverine movie, but as the two seem to enjoy working together, it will be interesting to see what they put together next. Now, in the realm of ‘X-Men’ movies though it seems that Keen will likely be making a comeback down the line as he states:

“I think Dafne is incredible in the film and I would love to see another film about that character and that’s certainly something I’d be involved in. For me that was one of the big additions I brought to the table, this decision to try to make the film about family and to try to insert Laura and the pressures that would put and the idea about Charles ailing.”

The ‘X-23’ film isn’t set in stone here, but it sounds like if audiences are receptive to her introduction, it could mean we’ll be seeing more of her later. While I originally felt that she might come back to the present by Cable or some other means, the mention of “Charles ailing” could mean that he survives the film and this would take place in the future. It is the perfect way to see Sir Patrick Stewart return to the franchise as he is open to doing.

Would you love to see an ‘X-23’ film? Would you prefer to see Laura sent back to the present for either ‘X-Men’ or ‘X-Force’ crossover potential or would you rather see her battling villains in a far-flung future? Share your thoughts below True Believers!

Directed by James Mangold, ‘Logan’ stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, and Dafne Keen and claws its way into theaters on March 3, 2017.
