When ‘The Walking Dead‘ returns this weekend we know that our survivors are planning to “Rise Up” and it would appear the latest clip is showing off Rick starting to do just that. While we don’t see any direct action happening in the clip, we do see Rick looking for a way to get away with doing something and not having Negan’s Saviors finding out what it is. The showrunners are promising that the second half of the seventh season would be more action packed and hopefully, this is leading towards some quicker pacing sooner rather than later.

You can check out the clip right here:

So it looks like whoever has set up this roadblock is likely with Negan’s Saviors and some quick thinking gives us a plan to get past them without anyone seeing that Rick is passing by. Insubordination alone is treated rather harshly by Negan so if he found out Rick and company were getting ready to go to war before they fully prepare it would mean a quick and painful end for them all.

Synopsis:

Rick’s group will find out yet again that the world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s much bigger than anything they’ve seen so far. While they have a singular purpose – to defeat Negan – it won’t come easy. More importantly, victory will require more than Alexandria. They need the numbers of the Kingdom and the Hilltop, but, similar to how Rick felt, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Gregory (Xander Berkeley) do not want bloodshed. To convince them otherwise will take more than speeches. The lengths Rick and the group will have to go to in order to find weapons, food and new fighters is nothing short of remarkable.

We’ll meet new survivors in incredible places. We’ll see Rick and the group tested in ways we’ve never seen before. We’ll see treachery from people we trust. Rick is confident as he will see his group and many others band together with the common goal of taking down Negan. But no amount of planning will prepare the group for all-out war with Negan and his army.

The highly anticipated mid-season seven premiere of the #1 show on all of television among adults 18-49, AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” launches Sunday, February 12th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
