While Relativity has been touting non-stop that they would still bring ‘The Crow‘ reboot to the big screen it looks like Samual Hadida, Highland Film Group, and Electric Shadow have teamed up to acquire the rights to finance, produce, and distribute ‘The Crow Reborn’. That’s right folks, the long-gestating take on ‘The Crow’ is in new hands though with Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh on board as an Executive Producer it doesn’t seem like they’ll be scrapping all of the work that has gone into the in development iteration. The name is aptly fitting for the property at this point and it looks as if Edward R. Pressman who produced the 1994 film will be back in the saddle to produce this one as well.
No word if this means that Corin Hardy will still be directing or Jason Momoa will still be starring in ‘The Crow Reborn’ but as they were two of the key selling points in my mind as this has to happen one can only hope they’re still attached. The studio should also hope that is still the case as it looks to still have principal photography still set for 2017!
According to Pressman:
“I am thrilled to collaborate with this talented team and return The Crow franchise to its roots for a new generation of audiences to enjoy.”
It sounds like all of the pieces have possibly finally fallen into place for the reboot that just doesn’t seem to want to get off the ground.
