We’ve slowly been being introduced to the various Gods in Starz upcoming take on Neil Gaiman’s ‘American Gods‘ and the latest is one who is looking to be worshipped once again and she is Bilquis, the old goddess of love. Not only that but the show’s logo and a new official synopsis has been released! Showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green are really outdoing themselves with the look of the show so far and the latest shot continues to show that they not only have the right vision for bringing Gaiman’s work to the small screen but are doing so in a way that fans should love.
So first up let’s take a look:
So who is this goddess?
Bilquis, played by Yetide Badaki (Aquarius, Masters of Sex) is an ancient goddess of love who craves the worship she inspired in eras long gone, and is eager to find that same relevance in today’s world.
In an age where too many the idea of dating boils down to swiping left and right on a profile picture, she might have her work cut out for her. However, just like the recently promotional shot of Bruce Langley as Technical Boy shows, this is going to be a feast for the eyes.

Synopsis:
When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday’s bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It’s a world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America, and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality, and his place in it.
