The team at Mezco really blew us away this year with their big reveals in their One:12 Collective line, but what about everything else? Mezco had quite a few awesome new items on display at New York Toy Fair 2016 from across their entire product line! Mezco has a number of great licenses under their belt, from Beetlejuice to DC Entertainment, and there’s even some Mortal Kombat thrown into the mix! Here’s the rundown of Mezco’s display at New York Toy Fair 2016…
Each year Mezco has brought fans another piece of their 13″ scale ‘Thundercats’ collection, so this year should certainly prove to be no different! For 2016, fans will be able to add the new 13″ Tygra figure to their ‘Thundercats’ display! As an added bonus, thanks to the fan demand, the previously sold out Lion-O figure is seeing a re-release at retail! Just for fun, Mezco is now throwing in an all new Snarf figure as a pack-in with Lion-O so that you can complete your team even sooner! Mezco has also announced plans for a new Snarf plush figure, which looks to sit at around 8″ tall.
Mezco recently announced that they had obtained the ‘Beetlejuice‘ license, so their ‘Beetlejuice’ merchandise was out in full force! On hand Mezco had their new stylized articulated Beetlejuice figure, as well as two new Beetlejuice plush figures, and what looks like a Beetlejuice Mez-Itz box set! The Mez-Itz set is going to include two different versions of Beetlejuice, as well as Adam and Barbara!
Speaking of the Mez-Itz line, Mezco’s little line of stylized mini figures had a handful of new releases on display at Toy Fair this year! We saw our first up close look at the Mez-Itz box sets for ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ , which includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Armored Batman; and a set for ‘Suicide Squad’, which includes Harley Quinn, Deadshot, The Joker, Katana, and Killer Croc!
Going a bit further back into the DC Entertainment history books, Mezco showed off a new set of Mez-Itz based on the 1992 Tim Burton classic, ‘Batman Returns’! This set includes Batman, The Penguin, and Catwoman!
If you wanted something a little more substantial, Mezco also showcased their all new ‘Batman Returns’ Batmobile Mez-Itz vehicle, which comes packed with a Michael Keaton styled Batman Mez-Itz figure as well.
Mezco also showcased some of their new ‘Mortal Kombat line at the convention. This 6″ scale line of ‘Mortal Kombat’ figures was announced last year at Toy fair and has since seen two full waves released at retail. Each of these ‘Mortal Kombat’ figures includes character specific accessories and feature a solid amount of articulation. It’s a shame there haven’t been more new figures announced for this line yet, as there are still plenty of ‘Mortal Kombat’ figures left to produce!
While these 6″ scale figures are in stores now, Mezco also just announced a brand new line of 3.75″ ‘Mortal Kombat’ figures as well that look downright amazing! These new smaller figures take all of the amazingly detailed sculpts of their 6″ counterparts and shrink them down with virtually no loss in the transition.
Mezco has certainly managed to come up with some great new collectibles for us to chase after in 2016! Hopefully, we will be hearing more from them soon regarding some of these fantastic lines!
