Ever since the first teaser dropped last month, Marvel Television and Netflix have slowly began to give us more ‘Jessica Jones’ in the form of promos that give us quick glimpses into the life of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest heroine. First, we saw that she isn’t too fond of alarms in the morning. Then, she showed how much she doesn’t give a damn when enjoying a nice drink. Now, Krysten Ritter’s Jones shows that there are easier ways to get to work when you’re a superhero.
The show’s official Twitter account recently unveiled a new promo titled ‘Evening Stroll’. Reminiscent of the motion posters released to promote ‘Daredevil’ earlier this year, we see Jessica in her corner of Hell’s Kitchen as she stops by her office at Alias Investigations. Of course, being a superhero lets her take a few shortcuts unavailable to the regular unpowered folks. Check out the spot below, followed by the synopsis for the second of four original series starring characters from the House of Ideas:
— Jessica Jones (@JessicaJones) October 6, 2015
Marvel’s ‘Jessica Jones’ will follow the titular superheroine “after a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint” and as she is now “rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.”
It’s interesting to note that while it’s easy to see the comparison to Man Without Fear’s promotional material, ‘Jessica Jones’ already feels like a different show despite taking place in the same part of town and likely not very far from each other in terms of location and timeframe. It seems like there’s more of an emphasis on comedy with Jones, but as we saw with Matt Murdock’s MCU debut, this show will likely touch on a number of different emotional notes throughout the run. Luckily we don’t have to wait too much longer to find out.
