While Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, spent most of Season 1 of ‘Daredevil‘ running around in black with a bandana covering the upper half of his face, fans and viewers spent a good amount of time waiting for the moment when he would don a costume closer to his comic-book counterpart, and were rewarded in the finale when he finally put on a custom red outfit that truly made him Daredevil. Unfortunately for some, the costume was a little too close to the one worn by Ben Affleck in his terrible adaptation of the character back in the early 2000’s, and while I personally liked the new costume, it seems the show runners agreed that it needed an update.

Which in the long run, is just fine by me, as it resulted in the new costume designed for Season 2 of ‘Daredevil,’ which you can see folded up in a box below, and worn in the tweet below that one. The combination of red and black suits the character much better for the show than the all-red costume from Season 1, and the horns look like they finally got them right. Plus, all the black in a way pays homage to the costume he donned for most of the first season, and just plain makes more sense for a vigilante who strikes from the shadows and operates most of the time at night. There’s a reason Batman does not run around in bright red tights, and also a reason why his sidekick Robin has been forced to adopt darker color schemes in more recent years. Bright colors are just not that stealthy, or intimidating.
