Since the dawn of science fiction, many people have fantasized about going to space and getting it on with exotic busty alien babes. Sex in space is certainly a subject of fascination and one that NASA has remained pretty tight-lipped about in recent years.

However, one company is ready to spark our curiosity to see what it’s like to have sex in space. The company is none other than Pornhub, the pornographic video sharing platform that’s touted as one of the largest pornography sites on the Internet. (I mean, I wouldn’t know, but…)

Pornhub began a crowdsourcing campaign to produce the first ever porn in space. Calling this venture “Sexploration,” adult film stars Eva Lovia and Johnny Sins plan to go really boldly where no man and woman (plus maybe a bunch of other men and women) have gone before. Pornhub hopes to raise $3.4 million through Indiegogo to train its stars and crew, adapt the film equipment for shooting in space and actually get a shuttle.

Adult film studio Digital Playground (known for ‘Virtual Sex with Jenna Jameson’) will be handling the production. As for the actual shuttle, Pornhub told ‘Business Insider’ that they are talking with a number of private companies to aid in its transportation efforts but wouldn’t name them. (Insert SpaceXXX joke here if you like.)

While this does seem like a fascinating kinky adventure, one important question remains. Can you actually have sex in space? According to a few researches it’s not entirely impossible but it does come with a range of difficulties.

First there’s the zero gravity element requiring the participants to hold on tight or rig something to physically stay together.

Then there’s the fluid factor, which can be pretty off-putting depending on your proclivities. Because of zero gravity, whatever fluid emitting will float in space around you. People tend to sweat profusely in space, plus many astronauts experience nausea and what’s known as spacesickness. These factors alone can contribute to whether or not sex would be a pleasant experience.

Finally, there are performance issues. Zero gravity does affect blood flow making it rather difficult for men to get and keep an erection, even if it happens to be someone with the erotic prowess of Johnny Sins.

All that being said, finding out whether or not sex in space is possible can be pretty important. Even if the “researchers” starred in ‘Pervs on Patrol’ and ‘Superbang Sunday,’ this endeavor can give some insight about the possibilities of procreation if humanity needed to relocate to a different planet. While much speculation has been made about fertility in space and the affect radiation would have on offspring, maybe now is the time explore the possibilities… for science purposes of course.

Check out Pornhub’s Indiegogo page. The perks are filled with sexual innuendos that I purposely didn’t add because I was worried I would get a migraine from all the eye-rolling.
