We are only days away from ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron‘ hitting theaters in America, but the film is already setting box records around the world. In fact, some countries are already hearing rumblings of the home video release of Joss Whedon’s epic follow-up to ‘The Avengers’. And thanks to this, we know that the Blu-ray and DVD releases will feature something special for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe around the world.

According to ScreenCrush, Amazon.co.uk is already offering its customers the opportunity to pre-order ‘Age of Ultron,’ In their correspondence, they note that an extended version of the film with an alternate ending will be available on Blu-ray and DVD in addition to the theatrical cut. Here’s the message that was sent to users:

In previous interviews about his latest film, Whedon revealed that the original cut was over three hours long. That means that a good bit was left out of the 141-minute final product. We already know that the mystery woman from an early trailer was cut out of the movie and apparently there are other moments from trailers that have been cut out as well.

As for the alternate ending, your guess is as good as mine. Since Whedon was shooting the film thinking that Captain Marvel would be popping up somewhere, it’s possible that her omission could factor into the alternate conclusion to the latest adventure featuring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. And what of the reports from last year involving the Hulk and a certain group of a-holes on the other side of the galaxy? The filmmaker has always said that a ‘Planet Hulk’ movie was off the table, but maybe his tune changed after James Gunn presented whatever he has planned for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ and he shot something to set up for that. Like I said, these are just guesses, but you’d have to imagine that the ending can’t be that different from the theatrical cut due to the Avengers existing in a shared cinematic universe. No matter what the ending is, it needs to lead into ‘Ant-Man’ and ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
