The ‘Star Wars’ franchise has always been keen on maintaining continuity, and keeping all the varying medias in line. Even though the old canon has been thrown out the window due to ‘The Force Awakens,’ it seems the new canon that has taken its place will be just as meticulously upheld, as evidenced by the first official timeline infographic. On the image, you can see where all the movies, books, TV shows and videogames (‘Star Wars: Battlefront‘) fit onto the timeline, clarifying an order things should be read in for anyone jumping in fresh. The timeline comes from the Amazon preview of the new book ‘A New Dawn,’ and if the old books were any indication, most of the new media will include some version of this timeline, with it being updated as more books, movies etc are added to canon.

Below the timeline are the synopsis’s for all of the books coming out in anticipation of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ which should help whet your appetite if you’re looking to jump into the new ‘Star Wars’ canonical universe anytime soon.
