Monolith Productions’ ‘Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor’ recently won the award for Game of the Year at this year’s recent Game Developers Choice Awards.
On top of ‘Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor’ winning the award, a slew of other titles also took in a variety of awards at the event. One of the blatant knockouts was ‘Monument Valley’, which wracked in awards for Innovation, Best Handheld Title and Visual Art. Other notables come from ‘Alien: Isolation’ on Best Audio, and ‘Destiny’ on Best Tech.
The 15th annual GDC Awards, held every year alongside the Game Developers Conference, contain awards that are determined by a vote conducted by members of the industry rather than press or players. The event is generally one of the more legitimate awards shows around due to this factor alone.
