Dana DeLorenzo won’t have to stand alone against Bruce Campbell‘s charm in Starz’ upcoming ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead‘ as another female lead has been cast! It was just announced that Jill Marie Jones (‘Sleepy Hollow’,’Girlfriends’) will be co-starring with Campbell as Ash once more returns to face down hordes of the Deadites which threaten our world.

In the series, Jones playing Amanda Fisher, someone who starts out working against Ash and might just be brought around to helping him save the world. The character is described as “a disgraced Michigan state trooper who, following the grisly murder of her partner, sets out to find Ash and prove his responsibility for the crime. But as she soon learns, Ash and his cohorts may be mankinds only hope against the plague of the evil dead.”

I have a feeling that if Ash is to have a love interest that Jones will end up being it. It wouldn’t be the first time that our unlikely savior chased after a strong woman. While Ash may initially show some interest in DeLorenzo’s character, Bruce at one point described his two younger counterparts and said that his relationship with one is a “father-figure deal, since Ash could have a daughter the same age as this character.” With DeLorenzo playing Kelly Maxwel who is a party girl running from her past, this sounds like her situation will have a familial feel to it so I’d say Ash won’t end up chasing after her.

At least not for long.

This 10-episode series is set to premiere on Starz in late 2015 and will continue on where the ‘Evil Dead’ movies left off.
