While originally scheduled for 2014 the new James Wan (‘Saw’,’The Conjuring‘) produced haunted house flick ‘Demonic‘ is finally starting to gear up for its 2015 release with a brand new trailer!

We have a newer face, Will Canon (‘Brotherhood’), in the director’s chair in a film that could be his big break into horror with Wan as his guiding hand. While Wan also contributed to the story, Will Canon, Doug Simon, and Max La Bella also worked on the screenplay.

In the film we will see Frank Grillo (‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘,’The Purge: Anarchy‘) as Detective Mark Lewis and Maria Bello (‘A History of Violence’,’Secret Window’) as Dr. Elizabeth Klein come together to investigate the murders of five college students. As the two question the remaining survivors of this horrible massacre, they find out they were all amateur ghost-hunters investigating a haunted house, at which point, things went horribly wrong. Also starring in the film are Cody Horn, Dustin Milligan, Megan Park, Scott Mechlowicz, and Aaron Yoo.

Check out the trailer below followed by the film’s synopsis:

The film centers on the aftermath of an horrific massacre where five college students were brutally murdered inside an abandoned home. Detective Mark Lewis and psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Klein question one of the few survivors, who explains they were amateur ghost-hunters, seeking out paranormal phenomenon at the abandoned house, which was believed to be haunted. But what started out as a harmless activity turned into something truly terrifying.

So while I’m not as sold on the film as I was with Wan’s directorial work, it still looks to have potential and with the acting talent involved I’m looking forward to seeing how the film comes together when it is finally released.
