Top notch motion capture performer Andy Serkis, who brought to life lead Ape Caesar in this summer’s ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,’ has generated Oscar buzz for his second outing in the franchise. The newest movie in the series which many haled as the most intelligent of the big budget summer blockbusters this year, hits BluRay and DVD on December 2nd and comes packed with extras. (The movie is already available on Digital HD.)
Here is a sneak peak at one of the extras, a segment featuring clips from the movie which help examine the deeper theme of the movie. The segment also includes interviews with Serkis and the movie’s director Matt Reeves, who discuss the concept of one species or race being (or thinking) it’s superior to another. Reeves points out that this weighty theme has always factored into the ‘Planet of the Apes’ movies from the earliest films in the 1960s.
