Some people were miffed that Aquaman was omitted from ‘Justice League: War’, when in the comics, he is a founding member of the Justice League. But it looks like Warner Animation is making it up to the Sea King by placing him front and center in the next ‘Justice League’ movie in a storyline entitled ‘Throne of Atlantis.’ Not only does Aquaman star, but the movie draws in much of his mythology, including his mother Atlanna, brother Orm/Ocean Master, his beloved Mera and arch enemy Black Manta.
Following the events of ‘War,’ Atlantis declares war on the surface world. It’s up to Arthur Curry, half-human, half-Atlantean, to attempt to unite both worlds. But it appears that Curry doesn’t even comprehend that he is half-Atlantean, knowing only that he possesses incredible powers that he doesn’t understand.
Also… he apparently doesn’t even like the name Aquaman!
Matt Lanter steps into the role of Aquaman, with Sam Witwer voicing Orm/Ocean Master, and the original cast of ‘War’ returning: Chris Gorham (The Flash), Jason O’Mara (Batman), Shemar Moore (Cyborg), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman), Jerry O’Connell (Superman), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern) and Sean Astin (Shazam).
Ethan Spaulding directed the movie. He previously directed ‘Son of Batman‘ and co-directed ‘Batman: Assault on Arkham‘ (which was not part of the same continuity). The script was written by Heath Corson.
