Been itching for more hints at what is to come from the villains of ‘Star Wars: Episode VII‘? Well today is your lucky day if you love Stormtroopers! Those wonderfully menacing soldiers of The Empire will once again be back. I just wonder if they’ll be able to hit the broad side of a barn this time around. What we no longer will have to wonder, though, is what the Imperial Forces standard grunts will look like when they return to the big screen. Thanks to Indie Revolver we have a look!

Now this is what I’m talking about for Stormtroopers unlike the early model armor that popped up in the ‘Clone Wars‘:

A very clear updated design from the classic look and if this is indeed the direction they are going I think they made some great design choices here. I dig how the eye lenses blend in with the rest of the helmet giving it a more imposing look. If you look at that second image which looks like a close up on the helmet, it actually looks like cloth over the mouth area. Will this be what the standard troopers wear or is this for specific situations?

According to Latino Review, the third image is of a subcategory of Stormtroopers called the Snowtrooper. These uniforms are to be used in cold atmospheres and are equipted with flame throwers!

Not only do we have those three released images images to enjoy but there is also a prop replica from The RPF which you can see a vent on the left side of the helmet. I almost think it seems like a mistake only having it on one side but, hey that’s just me.

What do you think of the new look of the Stormtroopers from ‘Star Wars’? Do you think they made the right call? Should both sides of the helmets have vents in them? Share your thoughts below!
