Actor Frank Grillo hints that despite the poor predicament his character crooked S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Brock Rumlow found himself in at the end of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, we should expect to see him more in the third ‘Captain America’ movie.  In the comics, Brock Rumlow is the alter ego of the mercenary Crossbones, so it sounds as if the movies will follow suit and make the villain a major threat in the next movie.

Grillo expressed:

“Very early on the Russos said, ‘Look, this is an origin film for this character.  We’re gonna discover who this is and this is a big movie with a lot of moving parts, but we’re gonna discover you in this film and, you know, here’s the information about who Brock Rumlow turns into and blah, blah, blah.’  And so we’ve had multiple discussions about what comes after that, that thing.  So, you know, it’s obvious Rumlow is covered in rubble and burned to crisp at the end, but you see he’s still there.  They don’t do that for no reason…”

It should also be pointed out that Grillo signed a multi-picture deal with Marvel, so while it’s no guarantee, he has a good shot at returning for future installments.

Grillo further went on to say, “He needs a costume!  Coincidentally it could be a mask with a crossbones on it.”

Grillo has quite a full plate coming up, as he will be starring in ‘The Purge: Anarchy’, ‘The Raid’, the TV series ‘Kingdom’ and ‘The Raid’ (which would pair him with ‘The Winter Soldier’ co-star Anthony Mackie).

It looks like Grillo’s star is on the rise, with all of these big projects on the way.  Are you looking forward to Crossbones possibly playing a larger role in the ‘Captain America’ universe?
