We are one episode away from being without ‘Game of Thrones‘ for nearly a year and the trailer for the season finale looks like they may have saved the best for last. Clearly this is going to be a little spoilerific so be forewared if you aren’t fully caught up on the show. Last Sunday’s episode showed us the fragile safety that the defenders of Castle Black still have and this week it looks as if we are going to be getting a focus on everything else in the world of Westeros. You also have to ask, though, if “All Men Must Die” (as seen in this year’s log line), who isn’t going to make it through the end of the season?

If you didn’t get enough of the last episode, there are some great behind the scenes videos just out from ‘The Watchers on the Wall‘ that you might want to check out! First up is a great “Inside the Episode’ featurette:

Second up is ‘A Formidable Fortress’ where George R.R. Martin examines the different ways that you can defend the Wall.

Third up is ‘The One’ which shows us and goes into detail the exact scene where Jon and Ygritte’s relationship comes to a bittersweet end. Surprisingly, not from a wedding!

The final featurette is a showcase on ‘The Battle of Castle Black’ as we see more details of how the season’s (and quite possibly the series’) largest action sequence to date! While in terms it could be comparable to the Battle of Blackwater Bay I personally felt that there was just a lot more going on in this one. In fact, there was so much going on here that this featurette is worth checking out just for the recap and to see a few of the aspects of it in greater detail! I’m pretty sure anyone following the show can agree that the 360 degree shot was just amazingly well orchestrated!

And now for the finale!

The final episode of season 4 is titled ‘The Children’ and it looks as if we’re going to be getting cliffhangers from every walk of life from the characters on the show. Dany is going to have to deal with a harsh reality, Bran will be learning more about his destiny as he and his traveling companions finally arrive at the tree they have been searching for (Hodor!), and the Lannisters all appear to be having to deal with their family situation of Tyrion destined for death. Arya Stark and The Hound look as if they are still on the road as well, so I suspect there was no reunion with her older sister. Oh, and it doesn’t look like they are going to leave off with Jon Snow walking into the cold as the finale for that portion either. Speaking of Jon, where exactly did his wolf go at the end of the last episode? Did he just wander off or did I miss a scene?

Check out trailer below!

I’m torn on this. On the one hand I cannot wait to see what happens in the next episode. On the other hand I don’t want to be without ‘Game of Thrones’ until the fifth season starts.

Are you dying for the finale? Do you think you can suffer through the down period between seasons? Which of the above featurettes were your favorite for last Sunday night’s episode? Share your thoughts below! (And please ladies and gentlemen, lets keep any book spoilers out of the comments here.)

The season finale was written by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss and directed by Alex Graves. It airs on Sunday, June 15 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
