It looks as if Peter Quill is getting his own upcoming solo series! The series is titled ‘The Legendary Star-Lord’ and we’ve got the first look released by Marvel for you! Just in time to celebrate the upcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ film.

It would appear that Marvel is hyping up the character that will appear in the mvoe as many of the current roster are getting their own books! With Scottie Young releasing a Rocket Raccoon solo series. it shouldn’t be a surprise that the leader of the group will be getting his own as well. ‘The Legendary Star-Lord’ will be written by Sam Humphries (‘Ultimate Comics: The Ultimates’, ‘Uncanny X-Force’) and the art is being tackled by Paco Media (‘Deadpool’, ‘Avenging Spider-Man’). The series is going to give Peter the starring role where he’is out to “swindle and swashbuckle his way across the galaxy”.

In fact, in the very first issue we will see Peter fight the Badoon, save an orphanage, and continue his flirtation with Kitty Pryde out of the ‘All-New X-Men’ crossover event ‘The Trial Of Jean Grey‘. Check out the first few pages below followed by the synopsis of the comic:

From the cold abyss of deep space to the seedy alien underworld, deadly forces await around every turn – and the Star-Lord stands alone. As the brazen outlaw prepares to strike out on a new journey, no fan can afford to miss the continuing adventures of the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. An epic new adventure begins right here – if he lives that long! Hang on dear reader, as Sam Humphries & Paco Medina take you out of this world when THE LEGENDARY STAR-LORD #1 explodes onto comic shop shelves and digital devices this July!

According to Humphries, “this book is going to be Peter’s adventures untethered from the Guardians, where he gets to play a little more fast and loose in the cosmic playground. He likes to fight. He likes to flirt. He flies by the seat of his pants. This book is almost more like a Space Western. It’s about heists and cons, bounty hunters, revenge and all that good stuff. These are the high flying adventures of a space cowboy.”

For those who love the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ or Sam’s writing of the cosmic genre, you are going to want to grab this one as soon as it is released!
