But word has it that Blunt is now being courted by Warner Brothers for a role in ‘Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice‘.
“The actress Emily Blunt will land on billboards worldwide with her film ‘Edge of Tomorrow’, in what appears to be a great science fiction role. Now her name returns to the orbit of comic adaptations with her possible incorporation in ‘Batman Vs Superman’, directed by Zack Snyder. A film that has been shooting since last month.” – ‘El Multicine‘
As of now, this is strictly a rumor. There’s no word on what role she could be playing. The movie already has a massive cast, but Blunt is a pretty big name, so I would expect that if this is true, she’ll have a pretty big role. The possibilities are practically endless. A villain like Poison Ivy? In the comics, she did once pit the two title characters against one another. Another super hero, like Zatanna? She’s been romantically linked with Batman in the past. (Who hasn’t?) Also keep in mind, Supergirl was strongly hinted at in ‘Man of Steel’.
But then again, maybe we should wait and see if this even pans out or that if she has been offered a part if she takes it. What do you think? Would you like to see Emily Blunt in this movie? And if so, who should she play?
In other casting news, in what is most likely to be true, the character of Commissioner James Gordon, Batman’s close ally is rumored to be making an appearance in the movie. Gordon’s played a role in all the previous Batman movies, so his presence in this movie shouldn’t come as a shock. The character will be the focus of the upcoming fall show ‘Gotham‘ played by Ben McKenzie. However, there is some speculation about ‘Arrow‘ and ‘The Flash‘ possibly connecting to the cinematic universe, but ‘Gotham’ seems less likely to do so. It’s set in the past and is on FOX, so it will likely exist in its own continuity. No word on casting yet, however.
What do you think? Who should play an older James Gordon on the big screen?

Jax Motes
Jax's earliest memory is of watching 'Batman,' followed shortly by a memory of playing Batman & Robin with a friend, which entailed running outside in just their underwear and towels as capes. When adults told them they couldn't run around outside in their underwear, both boys promptly whipped theirs off and ran around in just capes.
