We all know the story of ‘Sleeping Beauty’, the doomed princess cursed to fall into a hundred years’ slumber after her parents failed to invite the wicked fairy Maleficent to her christening. Maleficent carried on the tradition of elegant, regal villains, following the footsteps of Snow White’s Evil Queen and Lady Tremain, Cinderella’s stepmother. But never has Maleficent’s tale been told. How did she end up so bitter?
Maleficent is finally getting the ‘Wicked’ treatment, with a movie that explores her history and casts her in a more sympathetic light. Disney has put together this behind-the-scenes featurette including footage from the movie as well as interviews with the stars and producers, who give a peak at the content of this film.
