With little fanfare, the official ‘Amazing Spiderman 2’ game trailer was launched this week. Apart from the obvious financial benefits of releasing new games to coincide with new blockbusting movies, it also gives the medium new and exciting ways to expand on the stories that aren’t covered in the films. For instance, the introduction of Kraven the Hunter who had a long and fruitless history as a villain throughout the comics since the 80’s will be one of the leading characters for the game. Although, in the game it appears he may be acting in more of a mentor type role to Peter Parker as he learns new ways to take on the bad guys.
‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ video game continues the adventures of Peter Parker as you search relentlessly for the person — or creature — who murdered your Uncle Ben. The game will also feature Electro, of course, and we have also been promised a plethora of other villains to bring to sticky justice. The game also introduces the new “Hero or Menace” system, which incentivizes superhero behavior by rewarding the web-slinger’s crime-fighting efforts, or adds consequences for letting criminal behavior remain unpunished.
