If you were watching Game 4 of the World Series last night, then you might have seen the latest trailer for the second installment of ‘The Hunger Games’ tetralogy, ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’. Not a sports fan? Well, we have the trailer for you to watch in case you missed it!
The trailer doesn’t have much dialog except for President Snow (Donald Sutherland) challenging Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in a voice over asking if she’d like to be in a real war. There is some great new footage in the video with Katniss navigating the tropical arena and coming face to face with jabberjays (which mimic the screams of your loved ones) and carnivorous monkeys and another look of the flaming costumes designed by Cinna.
The trailers so far look as if director Francis Lawrence has taken the same approach as Gary Ross and has stayed true to the source material. With less than a month before the film’s release, expect to see more of a promotional push with featurettes and clips to arrive in the coming weeks.
With the tagline of the film being “Hope is stronger than fear”, it seems that fans can hope and not fear that this film will be as successful as the first one.
Check out the trailer below:
Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour’ of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Jeffrey Wright, with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland and will be in theaters on November 22, 2013.
