The majority of the ‘Game of Thrones‘ cast is hard at work in Northern Ireland, where the show is filmed, but at least one cast member was able to get away.  Kit Harington, who plays virtuous Jon Snow hit the red carpet for the Emmys on Sunday night and spilled a little on the upcoming season of HBO’s fantasy hit, which will return next year.

“I have to have scars this season” he commented, gesturing at both sides of his face. He pointed out that in the book, his character has a permanent scar on the left side of his face.  “I’m asking to keep one of them.”  He states that the scar on the right side will “disappear” but that he hopes top keep the other.

“And obviously, I’ve been shot in the back with arrows, so that hurt.”

As for what viewers can expect from the upcoming fourth season, he stated “More deaths this season than any other… Really big shock deaths.”  This sounds unbelievable, considering the bloodbath at The Red Wedding in season three!  And speaking of that “There is another wedding.  I don’t know that it can be as bloody as the last one.  It is quite eventful.”

When asked if there would be any romance on the show, he scoffed, “Love?  In ‘Game of Thrones’, really?  You think we’d be that nice?”  He pointed out that Jon’s relationship with Ygritte was as close to love as the show gets.  Not to spoil things, but he lamented for his character.  “Poor ol’ Jon.  He’s not very lucky with love.  I think he might just have to give up.”

On the other hand, he assured, “There will be plenty of sex.”

What else can we expect?  “More fighting than there’s ever been… It’s my favorite season.  And I’m hoping it will be other people’s as well.”

‘Game of Thrones’ is of course based on George R.R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ books.  If they stay faithful, this upcoming season should adhere to the plot of the second half of ‘A Storm of Swords.’

Will you be tuning in to the upcoming fourth season?
