With one week to go, Warner Brothers has put together yet another trailer for its giant robots versus giant monsters flick Pacific Rim. The new clip highlights the action, but also reveals a bit more about the plot, namely that the closer the bond between the two Jaeger (robot) pilots the more efficient the mecha reacts.
The film follows the events of an invasion by enormous alien monsters called Kaiju who enter our world from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. Humanity must fight back using giant robotic suits of armor, commanded by two pilots who are experts at hand to hand combat. On the verge of defeat, the human resistance must employ a washed up pilot named Raleigh Beckett (portrayed by Charlie Hunnam) and an untested newbie Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) who command a seemingly obsolete Jaeger.
Opening on July 12th in 3D, 2D and IMAX theaters, the Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures release stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad William Henke and Diego Klattenhoff.
