“The first adventure of the epic legend begins…” so says the first of two new TV spots for ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.” While most spots normally regurgitate the same footage with minor snippets of new material, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros have managed to include plenty of unseen footage in not one, but both of the spots!

Last week a new international trailer, the soundtrack and a new TV spot were unveiled. While most of the material released so far have focused on the action of the film, these new two spots center on Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and reminds audiences that it’s his journey that they’ll be joining in. If you’ve seen ‘The Lord of the Rings,’ the spots further illustrates that Martin Freeman has the character of Bilbo down and that he can easily be believed to be Ian Holm’s earlier version of his Bilbo Baggins from ‘LOTR.’

It’s refreshing to see all the new footage from these TV spots and the excitement to see ‘The Hobbit’ grows tremendously after viewing them! With less than a month to go before the premiere of the film, expect more to come from Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema.

What do you think of the released footage so far?
