If you don’t believe, you don’t receive. That was the excuse given as to why presents from Santa were no longer under the tree. But after a certain age, you have to grow up, right? Or do you?
In Dreamworks newest animation, ‘Rise of the Guardians’, movie goers young and old will again believe in not only Santa but also the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, the Easter Bunny, and even Jack Frost! To announce the newest super team that will be invading theaters this holiday season, a new movie poster was released showcasing the childhood icons.
The trailer and movie poster both have a whimsical feel to them which hopefully will transfer well onto the big screen. Considering the film is already tapped to receive the Hollywood Animation Award next before it is even released in theaters says something about the movie.
The film features the voices of Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher, Jude Law, and Chris Pine and is based on a novel by William Joyce. Joyce also co-wrote the script with screenwriter David Lindsay-Abaire (‘Oz the Great and Powerful’, ‘Inkheart’).
Here’s a brief synopsis:
When an evil spirit called Pitch becomes bent upon taking over the world by inspiring fear in the hearts of kids everywhere, a group of our greatest heroes, Santa (Alec Baldwin), the Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman), the Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher) and Jack Frost (Chris Pine), band together for the first time, determined to stand in Pitch’s way.
So between ‘Rise of the Guardians’ and ‘Wreck It Ralph‘, it looks like the nominations for the animation category for next year’s Oscar’s might actually be something to look forward to.
‘Rise of the Guardians’ Movie Poster:
