Yesterday, I shared some viral marketing posters found in Hollywood for the remake of ‘Total Recall’ from director Len Wiseman and star Colin Farrell. The posters were for the fictional company in the movie Rekall, which turns customers dreams into real memories. At the bottom of the posters, the website WelcomeToRekall.com appeared and I said that it featured a prerecorded call from the movie. Well I noticed today that the site now features a very interactive interface with contests (or “experiences”) that would help fans live out their wildest dreams. Prizes include the opportunities to become a secret agent, a rock star, a fashionista, a video gamer, a millionaire, and a UFC champion. The site also features some bios for characters linked to Rekall like Mac McClane, Dr. Steven Albert, Cynthia Weston-Greene, and Zoey Morgan.
If you’re one of those who think that Rekall is too good to be true, then you should check out NoRekall.org. This website features three cases where the process that Rekall offers has backfired. Probably a product of the underground resistance determined to stop Chancellor Cohaagen, the folks behind NoRekall.org warn those considering the procedure not to let Rekall “blow your mind”.
