The best thing about international trailers is that they often contain footage not seen in the US release. Although, the majority of the international version of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ trailer is the same as the domestic one, in today’s release, we get to see more of the animosity between Gwen Stacy’s by- the-book police officer father, George (played by Denis Leary) and the alter ego of the “criminal” he’s after, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) as well as more Spidey in action!

This reboot of Spider-Man is being touted as the untold story and from the looks of the trailer, it seems to be achieving what it’s set out to do. The feel of the movie is reminiscent of ‘Batman Begins’ with its dark undertones and realistic look. It’s definitely been changing the minds of movie goers who were reluctant to even give this movie a chance.

Take a look at the trailer below and let me know if you think director Marc Webb has acheived his goal. And in case you forgot what the reboot is about, here’s a synopsis of the movie:

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
