After the astounding numbers for the week two and three sales of DC Comics’ New 52, it should come as no surprise that weeks four and five have officially sold out from the distributor as well. This week, DC Comics announced that ‘Aquaman’ #1 joins the list of new #1 issues to sell over 100,000 copies. The other ten books to reach that status are: ‘Action Comics’, ‘Batgirl’, ‘Batman’, ‘Batman and Robin’, ‘Batman: The Dark Knight’, ‘Detective Comics’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Green Lantern’, ‘Justice League’, and ‘Superman’. Three of those eleven titles, ‘Action Comics’, ‘Batman’, and ‘Justice League’, have even surpassed the 200,000 sales mark.

These numbers reflect that the issues have sold out from Diamond Comic Distributors. That means that the comic shops have bought every issue that was published. It doesn’t reflect how many actual issues are being sold to the public. But… if what I’m seeing at my local comic shops is true around the nation, then the issues are disappearing off of comic shop shelves as well.

If you haven’t picked up or pre-ordered your copies of the new #1’s, fear not! All 52 issues have gone back for a second printing with ‘Batgirl’, ‘Action Comics’, and the ‘Justice League’ combo-pack going for a third print and the regular edition of ‘Justice League’ #1 even going for a fourth! DC wants fans to have these landmark issues and is printing more as fast as they sell out.
