Over the past few weeks, Batman fans have stalked the the filming of Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ in Pittsburgh, PA to get a look at the secretive film. Thanks to these fans, a ton of videos and photos have leaked to the public. We’ve seen Batman battle Bane, Catwoman cruising on the Batpod, and the crash of the new Batwing.
Most recently, a huge 16 x 18 foot hole was built in the middle of a street of a secretive set on the El Camino campus. Even the builders of the set had no idea what the massive sinkhole was going to be. Steve Zottola, of the construction workers who helped build the set, said that “They’re going to try to do the special effects with the explosion and that’s about all I know as well.”
Today, thanks to cobraultra on YouTube, we have footage of the stunt and get to see Batman’s Tumbler come to a crashing halt. The one thing I notice is that this is the original camouflage version of the Tumbler and not the sleek black version. Is this a dry run of the stunt using an older vehicle? Or does Batman have to use the original Tumbler for some reason? My guess is that the fans and social media will reveal that soon enough.
‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is directed by Christopher Nolan and comes out July 20, 2012 starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine.
