Just announced, director J.J. Abrams’ ‘Super 8′ will hit theaters a day early, Thursday June 9, in 300 theaters through a promotion with Twitter.
The Twitter promotion, a first for the social media giant, puts Paramount Pictures’ new film into 300 theaters, including 239 Imax locations, hosted nationwide before the film’s Friday opening in 3200 theaters.
In March, the two companies partnered to premiere the exclusive ‘Super 8’ trailer via Twitter. Now, the companies have provided a hashtag, #Super8Secret, which allows Twitter users a direct link to buy tickets to see the film. Participating consumers will also receive a free popcorn with any concession purchase.
