‘Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters’ is the all new video game inspired by the forthcoming feature film which is due out June 17th. Rise of the Manhunters brings the enduringly popular DC hero to video game consoles everywhere. You get to play as gifted pilot Hal Jordan, the first human Green Lantern. Gamers are able to create an arsenal of ring constructs and take flight into outer space and beyond to restore intergalactic order. Use the Power Ring to build an array of weapons from green energy to defeat the Manhunters, an evil android race bent on destroying the Green Lantern Corps.

I am looking forward to wielding a Power Ring in this Green Lantern outing. Rise of the Manhunters is a completely unique story taking place after the events of this summer’s film. I can’t wait to see what kind of constructs the game play will allow since Hal has never been the most imaginative Green Lantern, but tends to get the job done when it matters.

The game’s script is written by comic book legend Marv Wolfman and features Ryan Reynolds in the role he is about to make famous as the voice of Hal Jordan. This companion to the live action movie is due out June 7, 2011, so make sure to check back for our video game review.
