Star Wars: The Mandalorian Will Include The Bounty Hunter IG-88

Each new detail about ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian‘ is making it sound even more interesting, and a new piece of news has bounty hunter IG-88 being part of the film! Showrunner Jon Favreau gave us the news as a Christmas present that this droid would be showing up in the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ series on Disney+ and we’ll hopefully be able to learn more about him. We had already heard a report that both Bossk and IG-88 would be making an appearance on the show, but hearing and seeing confirmation coming straight from Favreau makes it a bit more real.

Favreau shared the following post on Instagram and it is a present that many “Star Wars” fans will happily receive:

Merry Christmas!

While the droid’s remains were seen in the junk room in Cloud City, it would appear that it was either a different droid or that the bounty hunter survived whatever encounter had put him there in the first place. It isn’t clear if IG-88 will be working on a case, making a cameo, or is wondering who is walking around in Boba Fett’s old armor.

Are you looking forward to finally finding out more about IG-88? What do you think the bounty hunter droid will be up to in ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian’? Will he finally get an extensive backstory which is considered canon? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
